RIP Larry Lucchino

Sad news. My mom's classmate at Taylor Allderdice HS in Pittsburgh (Squirrel Hill). She said despite him being THE golden boy academically and athletically, he was down to earth back then and friendly to everyone and was the same way at reunions later on.

RIP to a man who should be in the Hall of Fame. Getting new parks in Baltimore/San Diego was impressive enough but what he pulled off in preserving Fenway--as an outsider in maybe the most insular city in the nation--was nothing short of incredible. And John Henry's spent the last several years making it abundantly clear Larry was the engine that made the Red Sox run and win.
