Should Pete Rose be reinstated?

Remember when this was a sure-fire way to fill a slow day on sports-talk radio? Now, meh. Pete's next significant step, frankly, is death. His life now is just autograph signing and whining -- and I'm as a big a Pete fan (on the field) as there is.

I would not be opposed to Pete being elected to the Hall of Fame after he dies. It's a lifetime ban after all.

Tell that to Joe Jackson and Buck Weaver.

I would not be opposed to their inclusion, either.

Change the rules.
Banned from Baseball for Gambling should be on his Hall of Fame Plaque.

Agree with this recommendation. There are 4,256 reasons why Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame. There are also good reasons to attach his gambling ignominy to his presence in the Hall of Fame.

By the way, if he were to be fully reinstated by MLB, he might then be eligible to be a minor league hitting instructor somewhere. That would not be all that awful...
