Succession Season 3 Thread (Includes Spoilers)

Damaged, disturbed and awful characters that are well written. It's hard to look away.

Also, I enjoy my wife's commentary on how the costume designers must hate the actress who plays Shiv because they put her in so many unflattering outfits.

-- My first comment after watching S1-E1&2: There are no likable characters on this show.
-- I think Shiv picked up a few LBs during the Covid break. I did notice her clothes didn't seem right.

Comfry is such a weird name. Of course they would use something like that on this show.

Rewatched the last half hour or so of this ep last night because I was drifting in and out of sleep on Sunday night, and jeez, the Roman deck pic scene was so well played by Culkin. He nailed that sheepish, "I know I forked up, just ground me," look that teenagers have when they really screw up. Gerri handled everything as well as she could, and Shiv has just turned into a total twat. The writing and acting in this show is the attraction, certainly not fealty or love of any of the characters.

Also, when did Kendall's kids become teenagers? I swear I remember them being super young just last season but I guess a lot of time could have pashed in between. Or maybe I'm not remembering correctly, which could very well be the case.

I love how Gerri backpedaled super quick when Roman asked if she wanted to mention the idea of the merger to Logan. Also, Shiv desperately trying to get her to use the deck pic against Roman and her refusal to do so.

Liked the episode. This was the first one this season where I know I'll go back and watch it again.

This is a season that needed more Stewie. Both as an entertaining character and as a capable foil to Logan.

The family seems to be sleepwalking into an ambush by Matsson. If I had to guess, Logan's refusal to buy out his son will come back to haunt him.

If I had to guess, Kendall dies and Mattson announces a takeover bid of Waystar Royco.

Yeah, wifey and I were wondering to each other last night "why are we watching these people? There's not one good person"

Tom might be a good person who has sold out his goodness to be a Roy.

Having watched the episode again my current thinking is that Kendall survives and tells this family he is going to confess all sins. Logan is on the cusp of sealing a deal with Mattson and drops dead.

I'm in the Logan dies camp. Kendall is incapacitated from the pool incident. The jackals see blood in the water and aim for a hostile takeover. Shiv and Ronan are left flailing, and next season is set up.

CFO Karl Muller ends up as head of Royco. Goes to bed and audience learns it's all been a dream of Sledge Hammer.

The awful kids getting screwed over (seemingly, at least for now) is satisfying.

I feel happy for Tom.

But, as the curtain drops on Season 3, the deal is not yet done …
