Ted Lasso Season 2 Discussion (Includes Spoilers)

The father-son storylines are, I think, the main theme. Jamie and James. Ted and his dad's suicide. Nate and his never-approving father. Even Roy and his niece.
And Roy and Jamie, for that matter. Given the father/son theme of the show, I can't see the series ending without Ted going home to his boy. The ex-wife isn't going to move to England.

No chance Ted and his therapist fall in love. It's totally against her character. She's too professional.

She sells the team. Ted makes peace with himself and moves back to Kansas… Holy shirt… the Wizard of Oz. Nate is the Cowardly Lion. Roy is the Tin Man. Jamie is the Scarecrow (kind of). Richmond is Oz where all of these characters cure their issues and move on in life.

Bantr makes Roy and Kelee enough money to buy the team and they get married.

The last few episodes of season 3 will be characters moving on to better places in their lives as their mental health issues are resolved.
Rebecca is Dorothy?

Well, they did focus in on her heels when she removed them a couple episodes ago.
No, of course Ted is the Dorothy figure, whisked away to an unfamiliar and wondrous new world — and eventually he'll end up going home.

Rebecca began as the wicked witch, but has kinda morphed into Glinda the Good Witch.

That's just a facade. Remember, her therapist told her to let her guard down.

1) Can some explain how the hospital knew to call Ted? It seems like their were voice notes on the phone, but how did they open the phone/would they call her emergency contact?

2) What do we make of Beard leaving Wembley at the end? Based on the title of episode 9, we are going to learn more, but I thought it was strange.

1) I'm assuming they saw the missed call from Ted at the time of the accident. He's a known figure in that town now so I'm guessing they called the team if they couldn't get into her phone. Not sure about the voice notes part.

2) Guessing he's getting fed up with the "aw shucks, we tried / did our best" mentality. He wants to win. We saw a bit of this last season in the pub after Ted said he wasn't benching Roy, and earlier in this episode near the end of the match right before he falls over the advertising boards.

That was my general thought on no. 2 as well, The falling over the advertising boards was a strange bit of slapstick.
