No love for "The National"? Boxer is phenomenal. I love that album.

I'm not sure Boxer is commercial enough for a Grammy nod.
Sorta surprised Timbaland isn't on there, either. He had a couple of huge cuts from Shock Value.

Basically this list is shirt. Vince Gill? Where the fork is Radiohead? Pearl Jam gets no love? Herbie forking Hancock? I thought he was dead.

They won't put an "ass-shaking" rap album up for album of the year. In 2006, Kanye West was also up there for "Late Registration" and it's more of an intellectual rap that draws in the Grammy nominations. Hence, this year, that's why "Graduation" got up there. There are few dance tracks on there, while many of his rhymes make you think. On the other hand, "Shock Value" makes you think to the point of how good a beat it is, not the lyrics.

Timbaland should clean house to win "Producer of the Year" though. He's up against Howard Benson, Joe Chiccarelli, Mike Elizondo and Mark Ronson.

Since I couldn't vote for "None of the Above" I voted for Winehouse. It's the type of album that Grammy voters love.

Springsteen should have been nominated, but wasn't.
Springsteen should have won in '03 when "The Rising" was pitted against Norah Jones and Norah Jones won.
FWIW, I believe "Magic" is in the running for Best Rock Album.

Yep, "Magic" is up against the Foos, John Fogerty ("Revival"), Wilco ("Sky Blue Sky") and Daughtry (self-titled) for Best Rock Album.

I think Kayne wins in a landslide as well. It's a great album that got a lot of hype because of his challenge to 50 Cent. Plus, a lot of people think he might get sympathy votes because of the passing of his mother. But that shouldn't matter in voting because the album is great, though I still like his first one the best.

Radiohead isn't eligible this year. Album came out after September 30.

It is, but it should be in the running for the big prize, not just the rock category.
