Think this would ever happen in the States?

Interesting notion.

Anyone think the recent flood of negative NBA pub could be partially or totally erased if they accomplished this here?
 
I think it would be a very good starting point. Maybe if each team donated a days salary to a local hospital or foster home. Doing something on a national scale would be hard because of the relative sizes of the two countries, but I think something like this with all the teams doing something on the same day would be a positive move and help the image.
 
Don't the fines and money losses from suspensions go towards charities? If so, then the Cincinnati Bengals would make Mother Teresa look like Paris Hilton.
 
They damn well better give! Who drives up the cost of healthcare? Smokers? Drunks? Fatties?

NOPE! As we all know its athletes. Its time they paid their fair share. Surgery this, therapy that,
knee replacement here, shooting victim there....don't get me started.
