McClung does awesome dunks and he does them on the first try.

and why isn't he in the nba? He has really good numbers and no one has really given him a shot. Is that his fault

The NBA version of a Quadruple-A player.

Compare both he and GP II. Both 6'2" guards with ridiculous hops. GP II is a worse offensive player but McClung can't guard like GP II (he'd get eaten alive). McClung's numbers look good in the G-League where he can be The Guy (27% usage rate) against lesser talent. In the NBA, his number crash out and if he can't bring value off the ball...

McClung is listed at 6'2" -- which seems generous as heck -- and he shoots 40% from the field, 25% from 3 point range. And he doesn't really do anything else.

My wife refereed McClung in high school, and I saw him play.
White boy from southwest Virginia winning the NBA dunk contest three straight years cracks me up.
Nothing will beat Jordan leaving from the foul line (my wife also saw him play in high school), though.

TNT gets a lot of praise for their NBA coverage because people love the chemistry of the hosts. The studio show is great.

Every time they move out of the studio and have to produce something live out of their element they are genuinely terrible. This All-Star coverage blows. They just had an endless shooting contest between Damian Lillard and some random dork and they kept missing Lillard's shots. Twice in a row they sat on closeups of Lillard shooting and never showed the ball going in. And for god's sake, have a professional broadcaster involved. Don't fully hand over the full segment to a You Tuber and think it's going to be watchable. They gave him time cues in his ear and he shouted them out.

Once you can see the best players 25+ games a year in the regular season, the novelty was done. Plus, some artificial East v West thing made no sense.
