18 dead in shooting in Lewiston, Maine

My mom grew up in Brunswick, which I got a chance to see a couple summers ago for the first time since I was a little kid. She already hates guns and loses her bearings after nearly every mass shooting. This won't go well back home.

Card is a trained firearms instructor believed to be in the Army reserve stationed out of Saco, ME

According to law enforcement, Card recently reported mental health issues including hearing voices and threats to shoot up the National Guard base in Saco. He was also reported to have been comitted to a mental health facility for 2 weeks in the summer of 2023.

Ct has a red flag law that would've removed his gun. Of course, the gun nuts have been fighting to get it overturned. Should be nationwide.

Still trying to determine how he was able to get to three locations in different parts of the town without someone calling 911 or alerting people at one of the other places. Maybe they did and he still was able to do damage. He obviously was known to police, given that they've released his name and a photo of the vehicle.

A terrible tragedy that seems random on its face but obviously the guy was bound and determined to wipe out everybody he could at a bowling alley, a bar and perhaps the place he worked.

The only image they've released so far is a license pic. There were calls, but he emptied his magazines quickly. Latest report I saw said that there were just two shooting scenes.
