2020-2021 NBA Regular Season thread

Remarkable state line of the moment:

It's halftime of Mavs-Warriors and Juan Toscano-Anderson has 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists... and is -20.

(Tangentially related, I'm sick to death of people saying that Steph Curry has to be in the MVP race. No he doesn't.)

He's in the race in that he's among the top 5 players on the season. But worthy of the award? Nah.

I mean, Steph is a great, great, great player. An all-timer.

Right now, I don't think I'd have him in the top 5 MVP candidates in the West, let alone the league.

Mavs sweep the LBJ-less Lakers — and turn around and lose to the sad-sack Kings.

They won't make a ripple in the playoffs, if they even get that far. They need to throw out the magic can of beans that is KP and get some real ballers in there.

He might be the best player in the game right now. Who are the 5 in the west you would put ahead of him?

For MVP? Jokic, Chris Paul, Doncic, LeBron, Lillard. Probably in roughly that order.

It's weird to me seeing how desperate people are to give the MVP to someone other than Jokic.
