The teams have 29 combined hits, a bunch of walks and there have been several errors.

I missed the first part of the game — did Verlander get hurt, or was he just pitching badly? Didn't even make it through three innings.

Control issues mostly. That and the Mariners waiting him out.

After the Braves' Double-A team bolted for Georgia, the Mud Monsters moved into the stadium as a Frontier League expansion team. They're making a decent marketing push. Hope they do well.

I used to go watch the Frontier League Otters in Evansville, Ind. Tickets and beer were cheap. I don't remember the games, but some of the women in the stands were hot — and not just from the humidity.

The Pirates continue to make their case for being the worst organization in MLB.

They replaced a logo that was there to honor Roberto Clemente with an advertisement. When Clemente's son and others criticized them, their first reaction was to point out that they honor Clemente in many other ways and that the logo they replaced was always meant to be temporary. Never mind that it had been there since 2022.

Now they seem to be reversing course. It looks like they decided to try to get away with removing it to make a few extra bucks, only to cave once they got caught. They truly are a toxic combination of stupid and cheap.
