Watched the match this morning, and yes, it was terrific. Keys played her ash off and Sabalenka was awful in the first set, especially up at the net, where she hit volleys that would have looked bad in the group I play with. But she got back to her usual self in the second and the third set was great tennis and great theater.
The shots everyone will talk about were Keys' backhand overhead that hit the line and drew Sabalenka almost into the stands to retrieve, leading to an easy putaway, and especially her winner off a tough Sabalenka service return at 5-5, 30-all in the final set. That was the moment it became apparent that not only did Keys have the game to win this thing, by God she going to finish it.
