Patterson Hood, David Hood talk Muscle Shoals Sound
Nice interview with the Hoods.
"Know what else is rare about the Hoods? Them performing music together live, which makes this Saturday special. David and Patterson Hood are set to play together, as part of a Shoals-stars-studded fundraiser for Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, the historic recording facility David cofounded in 1969.
Dubbed Swamp-A-Thon, the livestream will take place 1 – 7 p.m. May 8 via muscleshoalssoundstudio.org. Other musicians set to perform include Shoals studio greats Spooner Oldham and Kelvin Holly, as well accomplished locally based artists like John Paul White. In addition to live (virtual) performances, there will be a silent auction of collector's items. Greg Screws, news anchor with CBS affiliate WHNT-19 and a huge music fan, will host Swamp-A-Thon. The event is being styled like those polyester-era TV telethons, a vibe matching the studio's funky circa 1970 interior."
