I've been a car guy most of my life. My dad collected old 60's Mustangs so I've had the following Stangs: '68 Coupe, '88 GT, '89 GT (Conv), '66 (Conv), '01 (Conv.) However, I've realized once I sold my '66 (for the family minivan) that at some point nostalgia in cars is far outweighed by technological advances for which there's no substitute. And I do not have enough $$ or space to have a relic lying around. Some part of me wishes I did but not really. (Up until a couple of months ago, I had an '07 Miata/MX-5 and that was almost too old for me.)
This is a fantastic collection, I love seeing the Orange '68 Camaro with the white rally stripes, takes me back to my Hot Wheels times, but do I want to pay $75,000 for that? No thanks.

This, alas. I whiffed twice on the '68 Firebird of my dreams, but there's no going back now.

I would love to own a late '60s Cadillac convertible, but I know nothing about cars and would have to pay every time something goes wrong. And our garage isn't big enough to house a car that is so long.

A car like that is relatively easy to work on. What kills you is that any random part you need costs you $400 bucks, even if it's a little piece of trim. There are no repro parts, so anyone who has these parts knows they can charge out the ass for them.
