Ann Telnaes, WaPo editorial cartoonist, quits after censorship

Ah my bad. I've been around long enough to remember the blue font, but in my haste I thought it was a link and no way was I clicking that.
My apologies for mis-reading your post!

No worries. Text remains a terrible medium for conveying tone and intent, no matter how much SJ Deep Lore one invokes.

I don't think Trump's recent presser indicates that at all. I think it reinforces that he's a crank. But that was known and has been known.
I'm not a doctor, but I know from second-hand experience (my dad) that there are such good things as good days and bad days with dementia. If you're going to take one press availability as proof of stability amid so many other indications of cognitive instability, you may be ashuming too much.

If I get Alzheimer's, I want my family to put me in a home and forget about me. No visits where they leave crying because I don't know them anymore. Just collect my body when I'm dead, cremate me and scatter my ashes.

That goes for a lot of media outlets. And some of that has to do with the complete lack of reckoning with who Biden was even before the '22 midterms, and an unwillingness to look at hard truth after them. A lot of the folks know they blew it, and did so out of fear of...reprisal? I dunno. Something. At any rate, they kept readers in the dark about how well the man was actually functioning, he stayed in the race as a result, and everything transpired from there.

Political journalists knew he wasn't functional on a day-to-day basis. They knew Hunter Biden, the ne'er-do-well of all ne'er-do-wells, was functioning in the last several years as one adviser to his dad because the circle had to be small to prevent leaks. They sat on it.
