Oh... puhhhlease.
To honor a baseball player?
Who may have killed three people?
There is at least one report out there that the plane was forking around.
Game ppd. for rain though.
A former Met and current MLBer killed in a plane crash miles from Shea? I don't think it's as outlandish to postpone the game as you say.
And we probably won't know for weeks if pilot error caused the crash, so let's not go assuming he was forking around.
Edit: I see your point about how the game wouldn't be cancelled if four non-players were killed. But how would postponing the Mets game be any different than a company closing up shop for a period of time following the death of one of its employees?

MAY have killed ...
ONE report ...
Yeah, let's jump to conclusions.
You wouldn't cancel the game if four NON-baseball players were killed in a crash.
forking utter lack of logic.

Go ahead, avoid the issue. I said nothing about cancelling the game. You just decided to jump to conclusions. Yeah, I'm sure you'd fork around with a plane over the East River and a bunch of skyscrapers. Great place to do some loop-de-loos. Dickhead.
Of course, the fact that Lidle pitched for the Mets for a season might be a reason to cancel, if they so decide.

No, blood is not on Gillick's hands. He never told Lidle to got on that plane or fly that plane. He had nothing to do with this. Lidle might have done it just the same had the trade never happened, especially if he lived in NYC like so many players on the East Coast do.
RIP Cory Lidle.

FWIW, he pitched for the A's more recently than the Mets.
