DC plane crash

Or their families, who are all in an incredibly bad spot right now. Trust me -- I know. Instead of showing an ounce of sympathy -- no, a forking moment of silence does not count -- trying being a forking leader and not being the Blamer-in-Chief.
Hillary's word choice was right on the money. He's the Deplorable in Chief.

To echo what I said on the politics thread:
Another Comforter in Chief fail.
In other news, the sun rose in the east today.

The ethos of the modern GOP is hate of the other above all else. Hating gays didn't have traction, so hate transgenders. Hating blacks or lesbians was unpopular, so blame DEI. Natural tragedy in California — blame not sweeping the forest floors, the "faucets" not being "turned on" and of course voting rights.

I'm naive enough to think that we are Americans first and members of a party next. That's not how this moron thinks.

I've flown to DCA a lot. It is some crazy airspace, and requires a lot of threading of needles. I was never surprised by the things I'd see out the window — helicopters, planes with strange (or no) markings, what felt like 90-degree banking over the Potomac, rounding the Washington Monument. As an aviation enthusiast, it's wonderful. As a normal passenger, I could see where it would induce some stress.

Thanks for pointing that out. Really informative and I have a better understanding of why they might've been doing what they were doing, when.

I still wonder that if they have to do that annual evaluation in that corridor that maybe doing it in the early morning hours would make sense. I dunno. I know a lot of our air safety protocols have been developed by learning from disaster, so I'm sure that'll get evaluated.

DCA has always been a little crazy with its proximity to pretty much everything in DC. I know at one point post-Sept 11 there was discussion of whether it should be swapped with Andrews AFB (back before it was a joint base) but the logistical cost was too much and people (myself included back then) who live inside the beltline love the convenience of National.
