Erin Andrews leaves ESPN

And somewhere there's a 19-year-old attractive blonde majoring in broadcast journalism who will eventually replace Steele and will be called a 6 on SportsJournalists.com.

The idea that the 19-year-old is in a broadcast journalism program at the moment is a scenario I remain hopeful, but also somewhat skeptical, of.

My high school journalism program has 71 students (out of a student body of just over 1,000) registered for this fall -- a number that has more than doubled in two years.

A handful go on to journalism. I'll be honest with them -- if you've got the profile for TV, male or female, I'll steer them in the direction of broadcast because I know that's 90% of the battle (and what kept me away from any TV job :) ).

My point was that I hope people being taught "journalism" are the people who get these jobs, not people in "communications" or "public relations" or -- much worse -- "modeling."

Update: In addition to moving to Fox, Erin Andrews is proud to announce that she is pooping more efficiently and enjoyably than ever.

And before anyone asks:

How long before everyone hates her for being pretty and having a good job?

Hopefully she DOES a good job.
