ESPN’s features and analysis moving ESPN+ paywall

Why would ignoring NCAA violations advance the cause of college players getting paid. I would think more investigation of violations would support the argument that the current system is corrupt and hypocritical.

Because the sports media thinks those players should be paid, and not punished by the inevitable uncovering of NCAA violations.

Also: TWO news sites broke the Marshall story - The Athletic and Stadium. In other words, the story was out there, there was somebody willing to speak on the record about it, and it may very well be the inroads used to file a lawsuit against Marshall and Wichita State.

That's not to say the story isn't legitimate. It is. Marshall's long been known as "that guy." And I could be wrong about the lawsuit stuff. I could. That's just my read.
