I'll echo those who have said Bill Burr. The guy is freakin' hysterical.

Personally, I think the majority of that list sucks.

Gottfried? Seinfeld?

I went with Ron White.

I know he's a ventriloquist, but I would have put Jeff Dunham on the list.

Other than that, Carlos Mencia is more funny than everyone on that list not named Ron White.

Carlos Mencia is so horrible that you should be forced to send an apology through snail mail to Gabriel Iglesias, from whom Mencia probably has stolen (and forked up) material.

I don't have time to go through this whole thread. But good God. That is one shirtty ass list.

Upon a second review, I've noticed that all of choices seem to be based upon two basic misapprehensions. He either:

1) thinks it's still the 1980s--see Gottfried, Leno, Letterman, Garrett, Seinfeld (although that would be a shirtty fivesome even by the best of 80s standards); or

2) thinks comedy central roasts really matter--would anybody have even noticed people like Lampanelli, Jeselnik and Gottfried in recent years if not for their appearances on those silly roasts? Hate to break it to ya, Chef, but the regulars on those roasts do not represent today's best as much as they do today's most desperate for work.

Ron White is the only choice up there that can stand on his own as both being one TODAY's hottest acts and not a roast specialist.

Bingo. Chef loves the CC roasts way more than a grown man should.

And Ron White suuuuuuuuucks.
He is initial stuff was pretty funny (You caught "The Tater"). But his most recent stuff is awful. It's a rich guy telling us - in unfunny detail - about problems he has a rich guy.
