Music Thread (post a song)

Time machine me would love to slip back to the Bay Area (1975-1980) and see all the greats rolling through town, hit a couple Days on the Green, see groups on the cusp of hitting it big playing on a Tuesday night at the Warfield or Fillmore. My FB feed sometimes shows old Bill Graham Presents ads and the opening acts alone are incredible. Ticket prices? $8-15.
Man, those were the golden years for live music. Imagine catching all those legends before they blew up, and for pocket change. The vibe in places like the Fillmore must've been unreal.

And in this corner ... Wet Leg, back in concert earlier this week in NYC:

I am of two minds on this. One, they sound like female Blur but I like Blur so there. Two, I'm no prude but Rhian going from frumpy dresses to Daisy Dukes gives me the vapors.

EDIT: Shy Hester is there but way backstage.

I've been digging into Trombone Shorty a bit lately on Spotify. His solo stuff, the times he's just a featured artist. Solid, solid stuff.

I was just watching an Otis Gibbs interview with Ray Wylie Hubbard, and JJ Cale's name came up. It reminded me of some of the songs from his golden years.

Saw a used copy of "Private Eyes" for $5 in a record store and picked it up. Bit scratchy at the start of Side 2 (a shame because it starts with the great "Head Above Water"), but otherwise sounds good. Very good album. Not a bad track on it. Even the obligatory Oates track is pretty damn good. Only slips slightly right at the end.

You know the big ones. The last single is forgotten, but has always been a favorite. Sounds like they mind-melded with David Bowie circa "Scary Monsters" for a bit. Great track that should be better known.

If I played Major League Baseball, and last I checked, I do not, this would be my walk-up song.

Or perhaps this. Sounds like a funky-ass baseball game.
