Don't watch it.

Chris17 said:This is completely different than the hyper sensitive world you guys are talking about. Like racism, homophobia is a dangerous reality that has got to be combated. You call this hypersensitive... would it be hypersensitive if someone wrote the N-word, and then was criticized for it?
My guess is you will probably say "the N-word is different." Why, though? What makes the N-word different from "gay" or "faggot"? 60 years ago, it would have been called hypersensitive to call someone out for using the N-word in public. Now, thank God, we've realized that's simply not okay. Hopefully we'll get there soon with "gay".
And btw, Stitch, if an athlete used the word "retarded" in a post game presser.... how do you think that reaction would be?

Danny was our coach. Great guy. Really liked him. I was just being a stupid 15-year-old in charge of the chalk machine.
Danny benched me that game, and I could tell he was really hurt. I only used his name because I liked him and thought he would think it was a stupid, funny prank.
I hate that I hurt his feelings. Hated that it made him feel that all the time he spent with us kids wasn't appreciated.
I've done a lot of stupid stuff, but that's still one of my most memorable regrets.
If that's one of your most memorable regrets, you're doing pretty well for yourself.
I've always been a huge fan of playing juvenile pranks on my teammates or opponents, but athletes need to know better these days. If Beckham wrote "Getz sucks," it would've been funny AND avoided a PC shirtstorm afterward. It's really not that difficult.

Easy for you to say when you're not the object of the derision.

Well, being too sensitive about homophobia is a non-starter.Mizzougrad96 said:KYSportsWriter said:Just my opinion, but I think people have become way too sensitive to stuff like this.
I'm with you.

If you're gay, but you have felt the persecution and ridicule that people have thrown towards you, your friends, other known gays, its no big deal to throw the gay label around.
But hey, if you've never felt it, you probably think everyone is just being oversensitive because its just one word.
