Headline style pet peeve

I'm appalled at the lazy sports headlines these days. Yes, copy editors are overworked to the bone, but heds and cutlines are where you show how great you are. Punch up your heds and cuts. Make 'em shout. Push the envelope. Take risks. And never settle for the boring and the mundane. Look hard into the story and find something that really sells.

And ... and ... when you're done, go out there and ... win one for the GIMPER!!

yeah, well, here's another: Sportsline on Saturday night, Florida beats South Carolina, Sportsline's hed is:

Tao of Steve

..........huh? Spurrier's team lost. Had it won, decent hed. But Gamecocks lost, so how is "Tao of Steve" relevant to anything about that game result?

Tao of Steve?

The tao didn't come off a winner, so you can't write that.

Anything is better. Even "Gators win."

Maybe I'm a clueless idiot -- OK, that's quite likely, actually -- but I don't get it. How is Tao of Steve a decent headline if SC won? Does that mean something?
