Oh, yeah, I think we've commented on this when it was first announced.
I know we're supposed to sneer at remakes/reboots like this, but with Liam Neeson's involvement and that trailer, I am SO there!

Directed by Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island and Popstar, too. Looks like they "get" what made the originals funny.

There are a bunch of little touches even in the shootout bit to start it, like that one guy dies from getting hit with the non-sharpened side of the lollipop. I saw some commentary online about how they hope the movie matches the tone of the original vs. spoofing modern action movies, which somewhat overlooks that two of the three originals started with action sequences.

I'm skeptical, but the trailer is great. Been a long time since a comedy like this has been made. Might be the right time.
