I just realized I am posting way too much on this forum as a substitute for making my opinions known on the wider web, namely websites with the aliases of BookFace and Twatter.

A lot of us have highly salient observations of the world as it exists today. Shouldn't I and others be sharing those observations on a broader stage? It will certainly reach a much broader audience and maybe that hundredth of a point will make all the difference in North Carolina or name your next Florida next November.

Used to be that radio weasels like Michael Reagan would claim they were "conservative" but not ashociated with the Republican Party. Nowadays, weasels like Swanson and the late Limbaugh claimed they were "entertainers" and not "journalists."

Pop goes the weasel when the weasel goes pop.

I always wonder why YankeeFan spends 16 hours a day pounding out his whitey agenda on message board posts that reach 40 people.
Probably less than 40. I was guessing 10.

How many of us, if we were in our terminal days and counting, would spend a whole lot of time here?

I'd spend a little, just to say hi to acquaintances and maybe not let anyone know of the condition that my condition was in.

But other than that. fork it all. fork everything.

One of the things I like about this place is that I can shoot off an opinion, and not worry about if I'll get fired from my job. (crossthred/)
Seriously though, it helps refine my thinking bouncing ideas and thoughts off of a community that somewhat understands my frequent use of sarcasm and/or hyperbole to make a larger point.

Smart people like to discuss ideas with other smart people. Even those of us who get into dumb feuds (redundant) recognize that the other party on here is usually still brighter than the social media mashes.

I know a lot of time I'll post here to let off steam so I don't get into trouble in the wider world. But at the same time, we discuss a lot of important topics here that I wish were more talked about publicly.

I honestly come here first any time something major breaks because usually you guys have posted a bunch of updates and articles and your aggregate is way better than DeezNutz198786787 on Twitter.
