Even if you don't like Kim Mulkey, one of her Baylor teams went 40-0 in winning a national title.
Even if you don't like Geno Auriemma, he went 39-0 and 39-0 in back-to-back seasons 08-09 and 09-10 and then from 2013-16 won titles going 40-0, 38-1 and 38-0. The loss was in the fourth game of the season, by two in OT, at No. 6 Stanford.
I'm about 100 percent sure that Mulkey set up her schedule that year with enough games to one-up Geno if her team won 'em all. That 40-game schedule weren't no accident.
