Technically, that makes Rick Rielly 6th place since 3rd was a 3-way tie.

Is that the way they did it when you placed in the special olympics?

WTF

you screw up like that and rip the guy who points it out? weak

I'm sure Mizzou will apologize eventually. ::)

Apologize for what? Talk about semantics.

No, it's not semantics. It's called getting it right. Do you think if this were a real award that's how the AP story would read?

[And yes, the poster he dissed spelled Reilly wrong twice, but I didn't mention it.]

This isn't an AP story, it's a message board. And I'm sure Mizzou was aware of how ties are officially listed -- the average 15 year old kid does -- but was trying to make it simple. It seemed pretty easy to understand.

The votes are in...

First place - Joe Posnanski, KC Star
Second place - TJ Simers, LA Times
Third place (tie) - Mark Whicker, OCR; Bill Plaschke, LA Times; Norman Chad, syndicated
Fourth place - Rick Reilly, Sports Illustrated

Not Mitch Albom? :D
