I think I would put Mia's out of business with that Bottomless Brunch option.You pretty much can't go wrong with any restaurant in those three blocks of King Street between City Hall and the river. Il Porto is good, though I prefer Mia's (https://www.miasitalian.com/alexandria-va/alexandria-menus) for Italian food.
O'Connell's (https://www.danieloconnells.com/view-our-current-menus/) is a good Irish place — the Guinness burger is fantastic.
Mai Thai (Our Menu Mixed – Mai Thai Old Town VA) is right on the river and the food and custom cocktails are excellent.
Also, Barca (https://www.barcaalx.com/view-our-menu#pier) is a few blocks off of King Street and is, literally, right on the water:
In Milwaukee, Oscar's kills it for burgers.
