Has there ever been a season in which an entire conference's playoff enrollment was determined with two weeks to spare? Obviously, this is more likely with 17 games than with 16. But it still strikes me as dull. And probably the result of the NFC's .592 W% vs. the AFC -- the highest by either conference since 2017.Barring something really strange, I think we have our seven playoff teams in the AFC. The only way it changes is if the Bengals win out and the Broncos lose out. Bengals lose the tiebreaker to the Chargers (H2H). Miami will probably be favored in each of its last three, but I don't trust Tua and McDaniel at all. The last three weeks are just about seeding.
Still a lot of jockeying going on in the NFC. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Detroit ends up on the road in the wild-card round, which is crazy considering how good the Lions have been all season. Injury tipping point. Commanders are far from out of the woods. Atlanta still stinks, but the Falcons get the sad-ass Giants at home this week. If Philly beats Washington, that Atlanta-Washington game in Week 17 might be for a playoff spot.
Odd AP News Alert came across my email. I guess the Falcons think Penix will be stiffer than Cousins down the stretch.
