NFL Week 3: Marcus Dupree Did Not Wear This Number ...

An ex post facto fine for a rules violation NOT called by the officials on the field stinks out loud no matter what the rule.

Does anyone doubt that if that hit was on Matt Cassel or Luke McCown instead of Brady, there's no fine? The NFL WANTS its officiating to be as biased and borderline crooked as NBA officiating.

In fairness, it was an illegal hit. Dispute the rule if you like (IIRC, he was blocked from behind and hit Brady as he fell. What's he supposed to do?), but that hit was on the knee which is clearly illegal.

Exactly. The hit is against the rules and it is nothing new for the league to hand out fines for illegal hits even if the officials don't throw a flag on game day.

Nice to see some of you guys coming around, meeting those on the distant shore of reality.

The officiating in the league is a balls-up fiasco, and has been for many years.

Plenty of us have been willing to criticize the quality of officiating in the NFL. It's the conspiracy theories that most reasonable posters reject because nobody can provide motivation that is worth the risk.

As usual, you're late to figuring it all out.

Roger Goodell wants to put a franchise in England, yet won't do anything about the butchers, bakers and candlestick makers who provide weekly daycare for his $12B industry.

There's corruption and then there's corruption. Outright bribery? No. Rules enforcement slanted to the star system and to the league's unsubtle desire that there's lots of offense? Yes. That's not money corruption, but it's intellectual corruption.

This happened a few years ago when Brady was breathed on wrong by Terrell Suggs. The problem hasn't gone away.

The rules are being interpreted differently by different crews. There is no excuse for this distribution.

And a bad commissioner does nothing about it, only choosing to go after a peon like Dunta Robinson.

You can hit the QB but not in the head and not below the knees. The zone for hitting the QB is the same as a strike zone in baseball. It's ridiculous. All positions should be treated the same. Disallow the helmet hits because they are extremely dangerous. The below the knee rule is ridiculous and only exists because golden boy Brady missed a season from a hit below the knee. shirt happens.

Again, big damn difference between questionable competence and intentionally changing the way games turn out.

The former is a legitimate discussion. The latter is tinfoil hat territory.

That's a fantastic example of how to mislead with a bar graph by setting the bottom axis arbitrarily.

So you don't think it's embarrassing that Hochuli and Triplette seem to get an awful lot of important games.

They have done nothing to earn the privilege.

Hochuli is a boob and probably the most highly criticized official in the league, and loves the attention.
