HeinekenMan said:Has anyone dealt with multiple renditions at one event? I see that quite a bit these days. I've seen where they'll do back-to-back games and have two anthems for those who didn't attend the first game. I was at a softball game that started an hour before the baseball game. The umps stopped play when the anthem began 30 yards away on the baseball field.

Although A. I'm not "calling out," I'm asking what people do and B. you didn't actually answer the question posed, just jumped at the opportunity to berate me. Thanks for your input.
I always stand during the anthem and set aside any work I have, no matter how important
I never talk on the phone during the anthem.
land line or cell
click on "change color"
select blue

If I'm wearing a hat, I take the hat off and hold it in my right hand over my heart.
It's the national anthem. That's what you're supposed to do.
Absolutely...imjustagirl said:I stand for the anthem if I realize it's playing. I don't stand for the pre-event prayer.
playthrough said:A buddy of mine once wrote a column for his small-town paper about how the anthem should be just done away with at preps games; he had seen it butchered too many times and failed to see its use anymore. Needless to say, he couldn't show his face at American Legion happy hour after that.
cake in the rain said:2) Teams shouldn't feel obligated to play the anthem at every single meaningless sporting event. Save it for the big stuff and it will have more meaning.
SCOTUS declared it unconstitutional in 2000, but already some schools in Texas are emboldened enough to start doing it again, over the PA and full bore, in your face and Caesar be damned.NoOneLikesUs said:imjustagirl said:I stand for the anthem if I realize it's playing. A pre-event prayer?
I'd snap if some high school tried that shirt.
