What is appropriate attire for my humanitarian efforts such as taking kids to the planetarium?

Good question, I don't know what proper attire would be for the planetarium.
If it were me, taking my date to the planetarium, I'd go with a nice pair of slacks with a button-down oxford and a sweater vest.
Some men can rock the sweater vest, some can't.
