California Roll
This reminds me that a few days ago I was in the car and it was still on ESPN radio from the night before as I was listening to the Red Sox game on the way home.
Zubin, Keyshawn et al were talking about how people in California don't stop at a stop sign and it's called a California Roll and they kept saying it. I was waiting for a producer to correct them that it's called a "California Stop"
DERP!

I've lived in California all my life, and I've heard the "California roll" term used many times for that situation.

Interesting ... never heard it as such.

That it is also the name of a sushi dish is what makes it amusing to say to your passenger after you've performed one.

'I just did a California Roll.'
'Ha ha, yes, you did.'

Both make the drive go faster.
