Regional Sports Networks Going Bankrupt

NBA teams (and NHL) usually draw minuscule ratings and interest outside their core metro market.

It is true that NBA teams generally draw miniscule ratings outside their market. But the costs of distribution have fallen so dramatically and the number of potential outlets have increased so rapidly that someone will show the game.

I once went to a barber shop in Beijing and the Chinese cable system was showing a repeat of basketball game between two schools in Louisiana. I don't remember the exact schools but is was something like Southwestern Louisiana versus Louisiana Monroe and about 100 people were in the stands. But it was cheap programming.
