RIP Burt Young

Played the main suspect in one of the better episodes in the original Law & Order. He was a released sex offender, and Jack McCoy had Briscoe and Curtis make his life a living heck when he got out. Finally, his daughter - with whom he lives upon his release and who maintains his innocence - happens upon him raping a neighbor.

Or, as IMDB says it (better): "Mad Dog" --- A serial rapist recently granted parole against Jack's wishes is a suspect in a new rape and murder. Detectives can't get enough evidence to charge him, so Jack orders detectives to trail and harass him.

My Bronx friends recall him owning Il Boschetto on Gun Hill Road.

In a 2006 interview, he said, "But the law gave me a headache over there. Place has been there 30 years. I came in because friends of mine
were involved in freshening it up. It's a wonderful restaurant. But for every gorilla in the Bronx, it became a waterhole. So from the attention
over all the years, I had a little headache."

I always found Paulie extremely irritating and really didn't understand the purpose he served in any of the Rocky movies - unless it was to serve as a "tether" to keep Rocky from getting too far away from his roots - whether by screwing with his money and making him go broke, or just be a reminder that aside from his boxing skills, Rocky is more like Paulie than he'd want to admit.

Never seen any of the Rocky movies.
He was awesome as Bacala Sr.

He died 10 days ago - amazing that it didn't become public until now. Figure Stallone would have tweeted something, or someone with knowledge of his death would have let it out.

Rocky is one the great love stories ever told and Burt Young was the best actor of all time as Paulie.

RIP, Paulie and Lou.

My two favorite Paulie moments are from Rocky IV:

— After giving the heartfelt speech to Rocky in the tunnel before the Drago fight, they get to the ring and Paulie goes, "Remember what I said about wanting to be you? Forget it!"
— "I see three of him out there!" "Hit the one in the middle!"

Frank Sobotka always reminds me of Burt Young minus the burned out boozer part.
