I suspect there are a lot of people like me. I've certainly heard of her, and knew what she looked like, but don't know any of her songs at all.

Kind of like Salman Rushdie. Everybody knows who he is, but I bet very few have actually read anything he wrote.

She had converted to Islam and was covering her hair. Her son was a suicide, and she was in a great deal of pain over it.

Wasn't the abuse by clergy in Ireland as bad, or worse than what was happening in the US? I'll echo previous comments, a tough, tough life. Hope she's at peace.

Far worse and longer standing. Lots of little bodies buried near orphanages.
