Running 2017 MLB regular season thread

For whatever reason it takes me back to when I was little bitty shirt, maybe 4 or 5, and my father, an offensive tackle, played in an old-timer's football game at our small-town high school. He would have been 27 or 28, working a job-and-a-half, smoking ... not fat but definitely out of shape. He was this giant of a man to me, so I couldn't understand why we had to go pick him up at the doctor's office!
Good story.

Well heck, Rangers win their 10th straight. If they can push that streak to 20, they might gain a game or two on the Astros.

Arrieta was sharp yesterday. I'd still like to see him go deeper into games again. But a lot of the advanced metrics sites were flagging his bad start as at least partially attributable to bad luck. I don't know what his velocity was like yesterday, but it had also partially returned recently.

Schwarber, Rizzo, and Russell need to start hitting their weights, though. Other than raw Deer-Kittle-Reynolds power, I'm not convinced Schwarber has the goods at this level.
