SNL's Continued Downward Spiral Thread

Strong has done just about everything that can be done - but Gardner can fill her shoes.
There really is not "major" character for Kate to play anymore.
I think Kenan's deal with NBC will allow him to stay and do more shows if he wants
Don't know what the various contract statuses are. I've always thought it sucks that SNL usually announces who is staying and going about two weeks before the premiere. Any of those four could book sitcoms and movie roles through Christmas and beyond if they got a heads up from Lorne.

Melissa Villasenor was pretty invisible this season. Did she lead even one sketch? I wonder if she will be back.
But who's gonna play the role of the awkward-person-who-doesn't-get-the-point-of-the-sketch role then?

Thought it was a strong close. Really love McKinnon and Strong. Pretty clear this is it for them. Keenan, Pete and Aidy too.

Many would have left if not for the pandemic. It'll be a bit change next season.
I think Strong and McKinnon are outstanding. And McKinnon is SNL HOF.

I've never been a huge SNL guy, but I've enjoyed certain eras for sure.

I get that the pipeline to movies and TV has diminished, but I always thought cast members should be churned out after 5 years or so.

Even though they were obviously cast voices, it made me wonder, did they actually get real Muppets? Kermit looked perfect, though maybe not as much Statler & Waldorf.
Someone pointed out on Twitter (and apologies if I missed it here) that on Year 1 of SNL, there was a weekly Muppets sketch. It apparently ended when one of the writers complained, "I don't write for felt."
