Don't know what the paper looks like since it was sold a few years back, but, great sports town. Preps, strong college teams and the Condors are the top affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. A couple hours south over the Grapevine to LA, a few hours east to Vegas. And, of course, the Bakersfield Sound.
Alas, you're right at the bottom of the Central Valley.
