Storming the court/rushing the field

I remember one of the papers or websites did a story talking to this guy in the stands at Busch Stadium during game 4. He was a regular caller to WEEI, Bill from Allston or whatever his name was. He was such a miserable motherfucker because he knew he could no longer bitch about the Red Sox all summer, every summer. I bet Butch from the Cape was rolling in his grave that night.

I remember Butch from JT the Brick's overnight show.

If anyone still has a crush on Drew Barrymore and would like to rid themselves of that crush, I would recommend watching a few minutes of her talk show. It's not just bad. She will absolutely give you the creeps.

When the '86 Mets won the NL East, fans stormed the field and ripped the turf to shreds. For the Workd Series, they put mounted police on the field when they won.
My sister - not a sports fan- was at the game. I don't remember if she made it on to the field or just told us that others went.

Ok, how does it stop? You arrest everyone who goes on the court? Either you need 50 cops at every Top 25 road game (plus random rivalries) or you spend weeks combing over ESPN footage to ID suspects. Mob psychology is scary but it's real.

The SEC policy, which makes offenders pay the opponent a six-figure sum, is a good start.
Place 10 people in security garb along the baselines in the final seconds and you definitely make some people change their minds and decide not to bother.
The ACC is the only league without a policy in place.

1. Sometime in the '90s, ETSU beat App State for the first time in a lot of years. The AD opened the gate and was encouraging the student section to storm the field. They said, "Naaaaaaaa."

2. I think the only way to stop incidents like today's is if people storm the court, your next home game is behind closed doors in an empty arena. Students storming the court don't care if the school is fined. If a school has to return money to pissed off ticket holders, that will be their financial penalty.
