Ted Lasho Season 2 Discussion (Includes Spoilers)

This has to end like the Wizard of Oz; Ted goes back to Kansas to live happily ever after.

Roy is the Tin Man.
Nate is the Cowardly Lion.
Higgins the scarecrow?
Beard is definitely Toto.

There's a good case to be made for Jamie as the tin man. He's finally starting to show he has a heart.

Sudeikis made a movie between seasons which would have taken him away from the writing process for several weeks.

Might explain why this season feels so disjointed and lesser. If season 1 was a 10, this season was a 4 or 5.

I think I liked it more than that. 7-8 in my book. I didn't mind them exploring some darker themes. But I felt like they didn't quite bring it home in the finale.

Understanding that money is money, this show would be best served by ending a year too early rather than a year too late.

Season 1 was cute and funny. Season 2 has evolved into a dramatic masterpiece.

Season 2, for me is as great, but in a different way.

Nate's about to learn a very harsh reality about being the head coach: you get the credit and the glory when you win, but when you lose, people are RELENTLESS. We've seen Ted basically be able to laugh off being called a walker to his face. No way will Nate ever be able to take the abuse he's about to deal with.

Also, if we're operating on this show being The Wizard of Oz, then I hope a house drops on Rupert in S3.

Nate doesn't have the people skills to be a head coach.

Season 1 was a revelation... Season 2 had all the feels. I didn't like the stand alone Beard episode much, but there were moments in the over the last half of the season that brought tears to my eyes. Multiple moments.
