Ted Lasso Season 2 Discussion (Includes Spoilers)

It had its moments. I find myself wishing I could help them flesh out ideas and/or help them in post-production.

Tonight's episode could have knocked it out of the park by adding evocative visuals to the creatively edited scene where Rebecca and Ted remember their fathers.

I read a decent amount of Ted Lasso content on line and I've never seen that before. I'd also bet you a nickel that there will be a gay player storyline next year.

My thought (and that of a lot of people's) is that Rupert buys a rival club and puts Nate in charge. The scene with the 2 of them had heavy Tessio/Barzini vibes.

I agree the episode was good but could have been better. But that feels more like we've set the bar so high with the show, we expect a home run each week. It's a credit to the show but the episode could have been tighter.

The cut back and forth was a little confusing at first but got better.

Loved Rebecca's mom's advice for how to deal with men who just try to hurt you. Take their power away.

I think the Rebecca and Sam break up was the right thing but I wish it could have come next episode.

But I'm intrigued about where they're going. Nate is up to something. Ted and Rebecca's friend, could they rekindle? A Jaime-Kelsey-Roy love triangle? How will Sam get Rebecca back?

Sam won't get her back. It was a cute storyline and they had very good chemistry, but the dynamics of sports/business/wealth make it really an incomprehensible relationship in the real world.

If they want to move that romance forward, they will undoubtedly have to address the racial aspect, particularly as it relates to Euro soccer and its fans. It could be interesting, but given the pacing of the show, I'm not sure they could (or would want to) delve into it beyond the shallowest of levels.

There is a lot left to do in only a couple of episodes.

For me, given all of Ted's parenting issues (both as a son and a dad), I can't see another season when he is absent from his son's life.

My bad, I meant to say "try to get her back" which feels more reasonable than them actually restarting a romance.

I thought that the lighting and framing of the scene of Rebecca and Sam talking in bed really emphasized the contrast of their almost eggshell white and onyx black complexions.

Another complication of a continued relationship is that Sam's father seems to offer urge Sam to fight against Nigeria's former colonial rulers and might equate someone like Rebecca with that.
