Yeah, it's the Michelle part that just doesn't work.

I get that, and who knows, they might be ambiguous about where that relationship goes. Maybe they just say "let's be friends and co-parents and see how things go." But Dr. Jake is on his way out. I'm wondering if he did propose in Paris and she turned him down.

The question to me is whether Keeley goes back to Jamie -- now an actual grownup and budding leader -- or Roy.

And in truth they're both terrible! This has been a really rough season

Every so often society presents a thought that cuts straight to the bone. This line by Keeley is akin to Jamie Tartt maturing as a man.

Keeley: Restructure society so women aren't constantly sexualized while simultaneously being crucified for being sexual?

The Keeley part still feels like a different show and makes no sense to me. And while Nate and Jade have good chemistry, I don't really understand their romance or any redemption arc he is supposed to be having.

But it's the Dr. Jacob plot line which is the worst. We are programmed to not like him because we root for Ted, but the whole sleeping with your patient thing is a bridge too far for me. And why does Michelle now seem to have feelings again for Ted?

Yeah, this show is a hot mess right now. Just too many weird plots going on at once and the whole delete your photos from your phone thing in the locker room was almost cringeworthy in its execution.

The Keeley-Jack storyline feels like it was a way for the writers to kill time before plunging Keeley back to Jamie Tart. I would rather they just kept her in the background for a while and had shorter episodes until they had something worthwhile for the character to do.

Keeley and Roy break up for reasons never really explained. But in part because someone underwrites a PR firm for her who she has never met. Filled with employees she knows nothing about. Then this corporate titan turns out to just be a spoiled rich girl with relationship boundary issues?

Looking at the interwebs, this episode has not been well received.

I tend to not comment on a show that has plot threads strung across multiple episodes until a season is complete, because if a show is well-crafted, things can didn't make sense on the original watch can fall together in retrospect ... but this season has too much bloat, starting with the Keeley plot. The trick to gardening is the pruning. It would have been better to write out her character.

Also, if Ted ends up with Michelle ... well-received, that will not be. That would wreck the entire series. Ted is a dogged optimist, but he's not a sap. Going back to the ex who fornicated with your marriage counselor ... maybe it's just me, but it would undo every scintilla of growth from the character. That's not being forgiving. That's just being an idiot. Short of the Henry Blake ending, I can't think of a worse resolution to his arc.
