The Amazing Race -- All-Purpose Thread

Not sure what I think about the Fork for the future, but I'm just glad things are back to normal again in terms of the teams' travel.

Bummed to see the Tennessee biker boys go one-and-done. They really gave me some Bopper/Mark vibes as BFFs, and it was great to see.

If I've got to pick an early favorite, I'd go with the father and son lumberjack team.

Actually me, tonight: "Ok, the Amazing Race starts this week, better get that pool drawn!"
*checks calendar*
oh.
But it worked out because we have 12 entrants and 2 teams were eliminated last week.

Will agree that Jonathan and Ana have already rubbed me the wrong way. (I hate people that run around yelling EMERGENCY on this show. You being on a reality show is not an emergency, unless you're bleeding out in the ferry station.)

The lady repelling down the wooden thing in the pouring rain, crying, is an absolute mood. Probably not the mood she was feeling, but a mood nonetheless.

(also thanks TAR I had a perfectly fine scoring system - that I shamelessly stole from my predecessor - that you decided to just THROW OUT THE WINDOW so I had an hour-long debate about how to score this week)

I also was caught off-guard by last week's start, but I watched Episode 1 tonight and got caught up.

I thought it was a great first episode, and I loved watching Lauren climb up the bamboo tower and then rappel down while crying and getting all emotional. I could understand why because, to be honest, I did not think she was going to be able to do the task. The fact that she did it had to be special for her -- a real victory.

I was shocked at how well the yellow team -- Courtney and Jasmin -- caught up after having so much trouble getting a taxi driver with whom they could communicate. I thought they were on their way to elimination.

Man, Scott and Lori being on the final flight to killing it at the Intersection and Detours was unexpected.

The sumo wrestling was great, with the teams having to "wrestle" the guy at the end. Also the head sumo guy was a total ham. I loved him.

Was anyone else ready for Pops to break into the Lumberjack Song from Monty Python?

Big fan of the sumo guy. Man, he was great.

Reminded that in early stages and with a lot of streams, it's fun how much the order can flip within an episode.
