The Secrets of Playboy

In her autobiography (the name escapes), Linda Lovelace wrote that Hefner was into bestiality in a big way. She was coerced into a public performance with a German Shepherd. Fortunately for her, another woman at the mansion told her how to act so the dog would not co-operate. Lovelace said Hefner had a huge collection of animal porn. She also described a bunch of other activities that left the impression Hefner was a perverse piece of crap.

That is one post I'm sorry to have read.

The series ended last night with former Playboy cover girl Lisa Guerrero interviewing some of the victims
As awful as these stories were, and I have no reason to doubt them, you just get numb to them after a while

I was always fascinated that Playboy tried to sell the myth that these "girls" were like Cinderella, came to the Mansion and found their prince "small-town beauty becomes world famous and gets a life beyond her dreams" kind of stuff. Every woman who entered the world of Playboy knew what the deal was. You take off your clothes, you get paid - maybe you become famous through other opportunities, meet famous people you otherwise never would have met. And clearly, Playboy Inc. worked hard to sell this illusion.
