The Soccer Thread (Version 15) — I Got 115 Problems But a Pep Ain’t One

Watford with the scoreless draw at Stoke. Away points can't be sneezed at. Sets up a pretty mashive two matches for when I'm in town next week. 'Orns three points out of the last playoff spot, hosting 12th place Millwall in a lunchtime start on Saturday. Meanwhile, the teams Watford are chasing have very winnable home matches -- Coventry vs. Stoke, West Brom vs. QPR. Three points are a must.

Then the next Wednesday, it's Swansea, who are 16th. Saw the same match last year midweek, and Swansea snuck out a 1-1 draw. Hoping I get to see the boys bag six points to stay in the race.

Just a forking shipshow of a second half for Watford, who couldn't afford to drop two points, much less three, at home against Millwall. Great seats, but the mood was ruined when Millwall equalised around 58 minutes in. At least the Millwall supporters weren't total knob ends. We only chanted fork off Millwall once. Another mid-table finish is all but ashured if we don't beat Swansea on Wednesday.

Millwall fans can't afford to travel outside the Orbital.

Total tourist move, but fork it, sitting in the Princes Head in Richmond. Good ESB on draught and a nice chill vibe on a Monday afternoon. Thought about snaring a ticket to West Ham-Newcastle tonight but I'll just catch it on the telly near the hotel.

EDIT: To add they serve a hell of a steak and ale pie too.

Liverpool-PSG has been fun. Guessing we're headed for extra time, though the Reds have had most of the momentum of late. 1-1 on aggregate

And just like that, Liverpool is out of Europe. forking nails from the PSG keeper.

They had been so good during the group stage. It would be hilarious if PSG won in the post Messi-Neymar era.

The Madrid derby UCL match goes to PKs and an Atleti kick is ruled out by VAR as the player slipped when he took it and was found to have touched it with his non-shooting foot before he kicked it. Crazy and Real Madrid advance.

Aston Villa, a club that I have seen play before live as a mid-table EPL side then took a major header into the Championship for a bit, are in the UCL quarterfinals. Good on them.

Back in 2014 post-World Cup when everyone was picking a team, I fancied the Villans but ultimately returned home to MUFC for better or worse.
