Thinking about help

Ive been in this situation. On the one hand, in many ways we build our "structure." But at times get so wrapped up in it, that we feel if we stop "building" or "maintaining" for a couple of days it will all fall apart. I think COVID showed that the world will keep turning if we miss a basketball game, important family event or if a long tenured event or activity just ends. Sure, in a lot of ways these things are the mileposts of a year, or a life - BUT WE ALWAYS GO to (Whatever thing). We've learned we can survive without these things.
And to a broader extent, I know of several community events that never restarted after COVID, the "momentum" was lost, just was too hard to find people to carry these things forward.
But it IS important to maintain a "rhythm" - to have a regular schedule on a personal level, find one thing a day you can count as an "accomplishment" that push you forward. I'm a big believer in what gets in motion, stays in motion.
I'm also a big believer in going "toward" things that scare you. Its incredibly invigorating. The big obstacles we face as people are usually things we put in our own heads.
 
Take one step. One. Take the easiest one. That's ok. In fact, it's forking huge. Talk to your doctor. Just say you don't want to get out of bed. He or she will help. They will. They really forking will. That's alone might give you a good next 365. I'm only starting, but goddammit, it IS a start. I hope I keep going one day.

Seeing the Inside Out sequel with a brand new 13-year-old girl when she is well adjusted and you are not is a mindfork, man. Without getting too spoiler-y, a lot of the plot is driven by Riley's anxiety.
