"This American Life" had a similar story about 10 years ago. A family found a orphaned turkey chick and adopted it, so it lost its fear of people. When it grew to adulthood it terrorized the neighborhood to the point where people were afraid to go outside their homes. Police were called and the turkey attacked them, with predictable results.
