TV reporter arrested for taking a squat at a private residence from where he's reporting.
This incident is a nutty as the situation he was reporting on...

Lowe was on assignment Monday covering a story about a former Arizona State University football player who sacrificed his family's dog in a smoker in a fit of religious rage when nature called, the Phoenix New Times reports.
"Lowe chose to use the front yard of a residence to relieve himself," Goodyear, Arizona police spokeswoman Lisa Kutis told the news site. "An onlooker from across the street called it in to officers. They approached him, he said he'd had to relieve himself, and they arrested him."

He wasn't peeing.

CBS 5 Reporter Had a Really Crappy Monday

I've covered events where I was hours in the field and admit to peeing on a tree or behind my car, but always in a secluded and/or dark area. I had a TV reporter tell me one of her female colleagues had to pee in a cemetery once.

But I can't imagine taking a dump outside, ever.

Yeah.... this has been a strange, strange week in these parts.

It's been really interesting watching this story blow up. At first it was just FTVLive. Then a local alt-weekly ran it. I thought it was going to blow over... and then BAM! TMZ, HuffPost, People Mag, Daily News, Daily Mail...

There have definitely been times when I've had to go really bad, but I've never not made it to a latrine. I mean, this is the person across the street who saw him, not even the owner of the house he was muling nex to. Definitely a fireable offense, just shirtty judgment.

I just don't get it.

I'd rather shirt my pants than drop trou and shirt anywhere in public.

And it's not even remotely a tough choice.
