Shall I explain more what my issue was? I just have noticed that it seems that some newsrooms are more eager to diversify their departments rather than get the best candidate. I'd genuinely like to get other people's opinions on the issue.

What he said. You asked a legit question and then tossed in a bunch of garbage that had the tone of "they hired some of them wimmen and minor-ities and look at the mess it caused."

If you can pull that off, power to you. I don't see it happening and I don't see some - a small minority - of our membership treating the discussion as it should be treated.
