Actually, Joe Williams has a good point. Ask yourself if the Jews in Nazi Germany had any professional organizations on which they could rely. Of course not. Why? Because Nazi Germany was the epitome of systemic racism. The Nazis not only made sure that Jews were kicked out of professions, but also make sure that they could not unite to form professional organizations.

Somehow, I don't think a nation that allows an organization like the National Association of Black Journalists to exist is as guilty of systemic racism as those on the left wish to believe.

With the exception of the one that prompted it, this may be the stupidest post in the history of this board.

If you're going to drop a turd like that then at least come back and explain yourself.

I say this from experience.

Based on the existence of one or more specific programs for 27 years to expedite the recruiting and hiring of aspiring sports journalists of selected races and gender, then by definition that argues against a general complaint of "systemic racism," in this business anyway. Some of you may have benefited from the program. Some of you may feel virtuous about losing out on opportunities because of it.

You know, if you geniuses are really interested in systemic racism, why don't you do some research on the Civil Rights Movement, which ended a real form of systemic racism known as Jim Crow? While you're at it, why don't you do some research into inner-city school districts run by teachers' unions that essentially condemned Black and Latino students to substandard performance, and therefore, substandard opportunities? You won't hear anybody talk about that because it hits too close to home for too many people.

Well, you would know, since your responses embody the typical stupidity of most sports writers.

Man, don't argue that there's no systemic racism because Blacks are allowed to have trade organizations and then turn around and insult other people. Seriously.

Your posts are the rantings of a broken-down, weak dipshirt.

1. Regarding your first paragraph, you obviously don't know the meaning of the word "systemic." If you actually bothered to read my first post, you would see that I said that the situation was not nearly as bad as self-serving activists claim. BTW, have you noticed that during this entire discussion of "systemic racism," nobody gives any credit to the Civil Rights Movement for accomplishing anything? You don't think that's more than a little suspicious?

2. Regarding your second paragraph, if you don't want to be insulted, then don't insult other people. Otherwise, you will get what you deserve -- in spades.
